First off- Welcome to AW.ORG

Doug-
You couldn't ask for a friendlier group of people than those here on the site.

Great group of people and extremely knowledgeable about those collectible treasures we all cherish. Of course, you have found the right place for admirers of appliances, some electronics, and other collectibles.

Again, welcome to AW!

Rick, aka Washdaddy

Welcome, but be warned. Hanging out here can cause overwhelming desires to accumulate classic appliances, even appliances you might not have ever thought about before. One glimpse in a posting can ignite the desire to have something you did not know you wanted before seeing it. This will lead to time spent on eBay and Craig's list, in thrift stores, second hand appliance shops, junk yards and estate sales chasing your latest holy grail. We are a support group for this, enabling your collecting and sharing all kinds of information which will lead to further acquisitions. This is not the place to be if you consider this to be a problem, unless you need to get rid of stuff.

Do you have a Sunbeam Cofeemaster or know what one is? Vacuum coffee makers are sort of a totem among group members. They provide a way of brewing coffee that is most like the action of a top loading washing machine. If you Google Sunbeam Coffeemaster you get 4 hits. Here is the link to the first one which will lead you through the looking glass and down the rabbit hole. Your life is never going to be the same again, nor would you want it to be. Welcome, again, to our world.

And Tom is dead on accurate, you have now left Kansas!

When I first went down to DC to meet Tom, John, Chuck, Michael many moons ago- I was unaware of Combination washer-dryers and then I saw Tom's Brenda Bendix. Years later I ended up with 5 350 pound machines! So Tom is dead on accurate, be warned, and click your heels together to catch your breath!!

Another lost soul sucked into the sump of AW.org !!!

Welcome Doug. Just remember... You have been warned.

LOL... You will never find a place like this anywhere. Nicest bunch of people on Earth.

Welcome

You will learn more about washers, dryers, etc that you ever thought possible.

You will find yourself witness to debates regarding TL vs FL PODS vs Liquid VS Powder

Single rinse vs second rinse.

Fab softener added to rinse or dryer sheets in dryer.

All kinds of concoctions on homemade detergent, where to get TSSP or TsPP.

Debates on water usage and controlling the means of washing.

Not to mention loads of pics and vids of users who restore back to OEM condition wonderful from the past washers

Belt or direct drive?

Spin or neutral drain?

The conversations on here are endless. As are the debates.

Have fun!

sucked into the sump of AW.org !!!

Love it!
Very important things happen in sumps and an inadequate sump can spell disaster in performance.

Welcome to the group!

If anything, Washman and Tomturbomatic are understating the wealth of knowledge and the way you get sucked in. I couldn't tell you how many times I've started reading while sipping my morning coffee..... and then somehow I'm 20 minutes behind schedule!

Fair warning: Life will never be the same!
