Loved the pilot access door on these older Maytag dryers. They exposed the whole burner mechanism and you could watch it while your clothes dried. We found out it was great for roasting marshmallows or weiners too. Don't ask.....

Don, I'd like nothing more than to tell you that I and the members of my family would be too sane to try anything like that. Sadly, that is not the case. It did a great job on the marshmallows, and on OK job on the weiners. Really! I'm just glad it was my sister's husband who tried it on his dryer, which was identical to ours. That machine is still working, having not suffered any ill affects from the Maytag Bar-B-Que.

Roasting Marshmellows&Weiners

What the hell, the thing is vented better than a gas oven is. I just wonder what the sheets and underwear smelled like after a good cookout, or cook in, as it were. A Maytag Marshmellow is a coined pharse now based on your experinece, I just wonder if anyone did a Hotpoint hotdog?
