IIRC, you posted the story of this machine a while back?  It's a great machine that comes with a great history.  I have two Bernina machines and they are among the very best and have a very loyal following.  TOL new machines are now over $ 10-12k!

I have a Bernina 800 "record" sewing machine that I bought from the trade in pile at the Sew&Vac place near me.Mike put it aside thinking I would want it for my small sewing machine collection. It is a mechanical action machine-no electronics. The mechanical ones can last much longer than the electronic models and easier to fix.The machine works like a dream-helpted Mike fix it up.Got it for a good price. He has some older Pfaff ones in his warehouse-want to look these over too! They are from the 50's&60's.Would like to get a Pfaff like what my Stepmom had.Hers would have been from the 50's.She taught me some basic sewing on hers.

I have a --

-- Bernina 930. It is a wonderful machine. It, too, is mechanical with several decorative stitches. Bought it new in 1982. Love it.
