I wonder how many litres the drum volume is on the new hoover because My lg says it's the drum litres measures at 78 literes at 11kg, so...

These new drums are 81L , so realistically would hold 8kg

The drums get bigger and bigger... Our Panasonic hat a 70l drum and took ages to balance, however one could actually fit 8kg in, if you squeezed a bit. But 13kg in 81l is a REALLY tight fit. I guess 9-10kg would be the more realistic bet.

It would be really interesting to see, the machine gasket and inside components look like.

Regardless of whether one likes the looks or not (I'm not a massive fan of Hoover and Candy designs), you have to question how often you would fill a true 13kg of laundry.

I think 13kg would be an awful squash into these machines, same as most other capacities of >7-8kg in the last few years have been, except in the larger dimension machines. I certainly don't have the amount of clothes to make up loads that size on any sort of regular basis.

13 kg

As you could see in the video, for the first time they are advertising a huge drum not only for huge loads, but for better wash of 7kg load, with less creasing and time consumed than in 7 kg capacity machine, which makes a point.

Here is a "live" picturea, and a first sign of "inside change" - notice the new big paddles ;)

Nrones,

That's a nice looking machine there and I love the large door. I know this is off topic but I've noticed how small the door is on the Zanussi Jetsystem 7kg ZWH7122J is compared to my Hotpoint Smart 9kg WMFUG942 washing machine.

I noticed on a video of the Hoover that it says engineered in Europe but didn't say manufactured in Europe. Not that it matters, as long as it's a good product. It certainly looks good. I'm sure the large capacity will benefit many. I certainly love having a genuinely large drum in my 9kg machine, even as a single guy. I can do more in one load and not have to do more loads. Though I still end up using my machind twice a week.

Weight to volume ratios are getting smaller

I think that the 13 kg load rating in an 81 L drum is totally unrealistic. I agree with paulc, that it is most likely able to wash 8 may 10 kg at a pinch. We have a 10 kg ASKO in the store which is has a 80 L drum. I think in Europe it's rated at 11 kg, which brings the ratio to 7.2L/kg of washing. There is no difference in drum size of the Miele W1 series which is rated 8 or 9 kg in a 64 L drum.
