After leaving my 1988 Kenmore portable behind in my apartment when we bought the house (thinking that the 2006ish 587. km that was here would actually wash the dishes, silly boy!) I have been on the hunt for another one, had martin on the hunt as well! About a week ago one popped up on CL for 50.00, sent 3 emails (didn't want to seem too eager ;o) to no avail....suddenly Tuesday another one popped up, in better condition/more options for 25.00!!!! Contacted seller, and picked it up yesterday, Model# 6651677991 serial# fe0166481 looks like it was MFG in Jan 1995 in Findlay OH
does not look like it has too many miles on it. did put a cord on it and fire it up, sounds real good, tried video but it doesn't do it justice

you did excellent.......you can't go wrong with an UltraWash...and a '3' at that....

some hate that tower in the center, but it has never got in the way for me....

Sears had a challenge back then of these machines eliminating a whole cake in one cycle, or that machine was FREE......can't tell you how many cakes I baked and stuck in there, only to be completely gone by the end of the cycle....this is why I have a spare...but don't think I will ever use it, the original from 1988 is still running strong with never an issue....

did you still need black panels for this Scott?.....both or just one?

panels

martin, bottom panel isn't too bad, but top panel is a mess, huge gouge in it, has part of energy guide still attached, bet this DW was a scratch and dent and they just flipped the panel over to almond. I agree the tower in the middle was never a problem. going to be a few weeks before installation, having floor in kitchen replaced....suspense is killing me;o)

I have this dishwasher w/ whirlpool badge,it not 2 bad for cleaning, but if not used 4 bout a month the pump sticks.i just tip it over and turn the impeller that sticks out of pump by hand and its good 2 go. it could be my well water but never had this problem w/ any other machine.

Good things come to those who wait ;) I like the contemporary style buttons on the front. Very late 80s early 90s next generation euro quality style. And a built in disposer is essential IMO!
