I'm guessing..these are not the better years for Frigidaire, but because there's a matched color set , I couldn't resist posting. ORANGE?

Whatever. :-)

It's poppy, not orange.

Orange it ain't....

Interesting that a couple of other poppy Frigidaire items have turned up in upstate New York in the past few months.

It's tough to tell in the pics, but this looks like the darker "late" Poppy as well. If I had to have a complete set, I'd go for the earlier version. -C

Hey Cory, from what I remember, Terra Cotta (the later version of Poppy) was a solid color, while the items shown have the edge shading.

Photos vary so much due to lighting and other factors, then add in monitor variances, and some colors are almost impossible to determine. At first, I thought the range was Colonial Copper.

Actually, from my research, many of the glass tops were Custom Deluxe.

That looks like a 1973 RCDE3-37CW.

This would also be consistent with the "shaded" poppy color.

Tom, Terra Cotta, that's it! Yeah, it must be the lighting...and these are clearly shaded. A little googling tells me that the "early Poppy" I'm so fond of is actually Matador Red. -C

Terra Cotta was introduced around September of 1977 on 1978 models and it's not shaded. These are from 1973-74 and shaded.

It's hard to tell if they're Poppy or Colonial Copper... I think they are Colonial Copper.

I'm liable to get jumped on for this but to me that looks like its a shaded coppertone brown

Pretty Cool Range

And best of all it doesn't have the dreaded Radiant Tube elements that seldom make great contact with your cookware, now just imagine if GM-FD had sold an induction range in the 70s, to my knowledge only Roper built and sold a 30" induction range in the late 70s here in the US.

In any case these are beautiful appliances and I think they are calling you, Phil R.

Pristine Frigidaire Electri-clean

Wow, absolutely clean everywhere, no smoke trail on the oven outer face frame or door, presumably the self clean works AND it has been lovingly and fastidiously maintained. Looks brand new and won't need replacing in three years nor an anti-tip bracket! Yes Phil, a prime example which I don't think you yet have.

I still want to get the "Touch-N-Cook" version!

I know I won't find one in Canada because they weren't approved here.

on our 30" '76 range are original and make great contact with our cookware, they feel more stable than the many CalRod GEs and Hotpoints we've had, maybe due to their width and solidity. TEHO.

My aunt bought a new Frigidaire electric stove and refrigerator in Poppy back when that color first came out. At the time, Frigidaire was having a promotion, if you buy 2, you get a free poppy canister set. I still have the canister set on top of my kitchen cabinets.
