I have to share my interesting Turkey day... My sister was holding a small get together at her home.. Well around 11 am, i arriaved there, and there was the fire dept. My sister can't cook, but i even found it odd. Anyway, as we are standing there my nephew (who is 4 years old) admitted to me what he had done..He thought he would help his mom and cook the turkey. However, he knew he wasn't allowed to touch the stove.. But he knew the dryer acted like an oven. (its a 97 frigidaire, mid line). SO he drug the trukey out of the freezer and put it in the dryer, plastic bag and all. He climbed up on a stool, and set the time to its max setting 120 min, on high. Well, about 45-50 min. later, the plastic had melted and caught the inside on fire. Her house was full of smoke and she called the fire dept. After all the fire people left, we went in and survayed the damage. The house was ok, but the dryer is gone.. If my camera starts working i will post pictures.. I laughed and so did my sister.. She didn't punish him..But he is not allowed to help any more... The innocence of kids...

Lemme add this to the above. The dryer does have a dryer rack.

Glad the house was ok

It was almost 4 pm yesterday. I was cleaning up the kitchen (again!) and Dennis went out to check the gas grill. He called to me, said the house in back and kitty-corner from us was on FIRE. Sure enough, there was a plume of black smoke rising from the house. Before I could even get to the phone, I could hear the fire trucks coming. What really surprised and frightened me was how quickly the flames came up and engulfed the side of the house, even as we could hear the fire trucks approaching. What a rotton thing to have happen on a holiday.
