I wonder if these will give a real hot water wash?

Do you think they would handle two queen size sheets?

more than enough room for a queen size set.......I have one, well, the Avanti version, and mine is only the 1.7/12lb machine.....

this has a feature I wished mine had, "Air Dry", it can spin your load up to 60 minutes, clothes come out almost completely dry, minimal dryer time needed, if any

plus a detergent and softener dispenser......a lot of features and options, bigger machines aren't as flexible.....

there is no auto temp control in mine, if hooked to a sink, the temps are controlled by you, such as a warm rinse......

spin speeds up to 850 rpm....agitation speed is adjusted by water level and cycle selected....

what else do you want to know?

Yogi, that's neat looking! Now I'm thinking one of those with a full size dryer...

Just watched Utube vid. I think I'm getting excited! Of course, the plumber just called and let me know he's almost finished. That could easily mean another week.

That machine closely resembles Haier, Chinese vendor of questionable repute. The favorable reviews may be plugs.

Here's a datapoint: The shaded-pole motors used as pumps in machines of this class are very inefficient. In that their duty cycle is restricted as they generate a great deal of heat and typically require 2min of cooldown for every 1min of operation. Then we find a 60min spin. How long is that piddly little motor going to last when used that way? Who else spins more than a tenth that long?

From practice, 3min @1300rpm gets towels dry enough to use (if a bit clammy) without straining restricted-duty components.

See whatteye mean? There are a handful of things that just don't add up. I researched this a year ago before I bought my (Chinese) Panda twintub. Not that I'm infollicle-- wait, that means bald and I am-- but the closer I looked at Handy-Dandy Chinese portable automatics, the less enchanted I became.

I don't know what towels you have, or hat spindryer, but our FL gets towels after 2 min at 1200rpm, 90 sec at 1400rpm and 90sec at 1550rpm not even close to dry enough to use.

Further, these motors usually cycle on and off during spin. And after 10 minutes, the spins dry more by air movement then by actual g-force. So, it probably won't even run the pump during the AirDry feature.

Shaded pole motor as a larger pump motor---BAD-Usually when someone mentions shaded pole motors-we are talking about small fans or blowers, and cheap phono motors.

Well I did say "albeit clammy" because a damp towel will be near the dewpoint temperature. Meanwhile, a bone-dry towel can't bring about bone-dry skin. Ever try to put socks on immediately after bathing?

Alas there is no international towel standard for "dry enough to use". I mean dookie, if one starts at one's head and dries downward, by the time one reaches one's knees the towel is no longer dry no matter how dry it started out. Yet one continues using it down to one's feet. Doesn't one? Or does one use two towels, one to get damp dry and another to get damp drier?

"Dry enough to use" in my lexicon means dry enough to wick all standing water off the body, even if the dewpoint clamminess is less than comfortable. Which varies with latitude, season and sensitivity. Gimmee a break.

OK, intermittent pump. Us colonials don't have a great deal of exposure to that feature. Mostly the pump runs as long as the spin runs. Mine does. Every one I have ever encountered does. And it can be observed to produce about a tablespoon (9cc?) of effluent per minute beyond 90sec and above 1000rpm.

So try this test: Take a bone-dry towel, put a tablespoon of water on it, then use it to dry from a bath. Report results. Another test: Put a tablespoon of water in a pan, put it on a 1500W hotplate, report in kWh what it costs to evaporate. We're bantying fractions of a cent (centieuro in metric).

Shaded pole: They're inefficient as motors go, but as long as they are not operated abusively they are preferable to mechanically-coupled pump drives in terms of MTBF. Though friction elements may be cheaper to replace at wearout than entire motors. Nothing's ever simple or certain.

those pumps only operate intermittently......whether its one of these portables or a full size front loader, HE TLers included....they don't run the entire time.....even my Neptunes cycle on and off....

my unit if 5 years old, does that mean it should have died years ago?....

yeah, their built in China, what isn't these days?....Sanyo and Panasonic among others have been coming from there for years....

as McCoy stated to Spock....."I'll take a chance on your guesses than some peoples facts!".....

if Cuffs was closer, I would let him borrow mine for a while to see for himself....some people don't know what the hell their talking about....I am even bringing it to Jerry's wash-in as a show and tell....prepare to be amazed!...at 22 inches wide, this will even fit in the backseat of a car....I really think anyone with only one set of machines, should have one of these as a backup...

keep in mind...CAPACITY...mine alone is a 1.7cu ft....or 12 lb load capacity.....that's equal to a standard size GE FilterFlo V12....this handles a bigger load than my twin tubs or Whirlpool portable....

It does seem like a fun machine!  Sounds like there are so many people in apartments that are so glad to have them!  Good price also.

I believe Tom Ortega (WTH is he, anyway?) posted a most similar washer that had a 1000rpm spin (I looked it up and posted link).

Now, however, I can't find it. Ring a bell? It might have been a Brazil only model like that wall-mounted micro-washer he posted......

The point is that you've got a decent washer and only need to worry about drying.
