I've searched online to no avail in search of a new element for my dryer. Does anyone have any suggestions or are willing to sell one to me? Model # DEC-5.

Thanks,

Todd

I may have a generic element. I beleive it comes in a canister. Do you have a part number?

Actually, you can use a Kenmore/Whirlpool element if you slightly modify it. It works quite well and is fairly easy to do. That is what I have always done. Even when they were available, they were much more expensive than the Kenmore/Whirlpool ones.

Thank you for the responses -- I was worried I'd have to scrap the dryer. Good to know I can sub a Sears/Whirlpool part if necessary. I'll take the dryer apart this weekend and report back a part number.

Here's a photo of the dryer with its twin.

Thank you again for your help!

So I couldn't find a part number on the element but here are some pics I'm hoping will help me locate a replacement. Thanks.

Good luck. Keep your old one til the new one gets there so you can swap any missing brackets if needed.
