Made even more beautiful by the removal of the phony wood-grain contact vinyl on the control panel. Somebody went to college.

Just like Mother's first one in 1974...I can still remember how it sounded and all the clicks while the timer was advancing.

That's it!

I kept looking at that dishwasher thinking to myself why does that one look so much better than mine.  I couldn't put my finger on it and it's the wood trim!!  How easy is it to remove?

Removing The Fake Wood-Grain Material From A KDS-17A

Is not that difficult, my friend Bob [ also in Cleveland OH. but not the same DW ] did this to his and while it looked cool it really did not look correct because the plated steel under the wood-grain does not look all that good, if you really wanted to get rid of the WG I would paint this area black or a contrasting color.

That makes sense.

I guess at the end of the day I personally prefer the machine to be in it's original format.  I love the way that machine looks and the chrome really looks nice and shiny but I'll keep the fake wood because that's how it came from the factory.
