Hi Everyone,

I really want a Fedders "Circle of Air" / "Weather Wheel" VINTAGE Window

Air Conditioner, as they are called.  They have a Single Round Large Rotating Vent

on the front Panel.  They were made from the Late 50's to the Early/Mid 70's.

These are my most favorite.

I will however be interested in other Vintage Models with Circular Vents,

such as the GE's and Amana's.

I will entertain any "cool" Vintage Air Conditioners NO Newer than theEarly 70's.

I prefer 50's to Early 60's, actually, and I definitely prefer the

Cream Colors / Off White, as opposed to Wood Grain, but

will look at anything that Fits the Age Requirement.

Thanks for keeping an Eye out for me.  I need them, in keeping

with all my furnishings.

Best Washes,

Louis

I have one still in house from the 1950s or early 60s …It has a round vent and probable still would work…Good luck old air cond went to junk yard in arizona…you might find late 1970s but 50s and 60s are never seen by myself and i look at old houses all the time...

Its a LOOONG story..

But I had to sell a bunch of stuff and my house in 2005, Broyhill Furniture laid me off, and it put me in a bind....So, until I met Donald and moved to Mocksville I lived in an apartment.

SORRY HANS (

That sucks man. But glad you are in a good situation now.

Please keep an eye out for them in your travels.

I've wanted one since I can remember. An older cousin had one from the late 50's and it was still a daily driver till the house sold in the 90's.

It seems I keep missing them....So close, yet so far :(

Hope all is well :)

Louis, I have one I'd pass along to you. Give me a couple of days to get a picture of it to you. Also you'd have to figure how to get it from Arizona to you.

HI MARTIN.......

newvista58's profile picture

Thanks for keeping an eye out for me.  I have a unit or two that

look like that, and it does suit the bill.  But, I really want a true

Vintage A/C with circular vent(s), Esp. a Fedders.   I'll actually

be picking up an AirTemp Window unit Sat Morning, that looks

similar to that M/W, but has a Door over the Control Panel.

BUT don't give up looking for me.  You seem to find them

better than I can.

BTW / I still need to come down and get that Kenmore from

you.  Just let me know when is good for you. Maybe a thrifting

run to boot?

Thanks for the tip on the Hassock fan.  I do have a few already.

Talk soon.

Louis

HEY JUSTIN....

newvista58's profile picture

That would be AWESOME. I'd love to see a pic? Just curious.....How many BTUs?

My friend suggests AMTRAK Freight as a
possible way to ship. I'll cross that bridge when I get there :)

What stinks is there is an in the wall Weather Wheel 2 mins from my house in an apartment that just sold. It works. I tried it during the
estate sale. They don't use it and won't sell it.
UGGH / LOL. They stuck a small unit in the
window next to it.

Thanks again, and keep me posted.

Louis

That's a pretty one!  1983/84 or later, since Montgomery Ward didn't switch from the "blue bar" logo to the Serifa logo with the underscore until then.

HI TIM.......DEFINITELY

newvista58's profile picture

Fedders had many different style round registers, but the

placement on the front panel, was always the same.

I'll take any of the Fedders that have that look/configuration,

and of course the Older the Better.

Thank you for offering to keep an eye out.  I appreciate

it

Best regards,

Louis

Louis, The one I have looks similar to #14 but is only half as wide and sticks out about a foot into the room and about 2 more feet outside. It would not work well on a double hung window like the ad, but in a casement window or permanent installation.

THANKS FOR THE ADDED INFO WAYUPNORTH - TIM....

newvista58's profile picture

That gives me a much better Idea of the size.

It would be great to see a pic, but I know you

said you can't take one.

It's just hard to take something, sight unseen,

from a long distance.

It does sound cool.

The one I had

Was older, 1952, it had the wheel in the center, no thermostat, just 2 fan speeds on fan or cool, I hooked up a line voltage cooling thermostat and mounted it on the wall, it worked great....COLD! I wish I had it back. I put my 64 Frigidaire in the dining room window, it helps the central out when im cooking.

GET IT BACK, FOR ME.....HANS / LOL,

newvista58's profile picture

That sounds like a really nice A/C and a 1952?  That is awesome.

BUT, we have to do what is right at the time.  Looking back

and questioning, achieves nothing :(

Have a Great Day,

Louis

Yes, that Fedders is still up in my attic. And yes, it was installed over the door of our neighborhood grocery store.

Does anyone here still have a Fedders weather wheel lurking around that they would be willing to part with. I'm looking for one with the gold screen.

Thanks,
Sarah

That’s a really cool air conditioner no pun intended. It looks to be in good condition. Is it for sale and what kind of condition is the outside of it in?
