My soon to be much loved Kenmore Ultra Wash really needs a new bottom rack. The problem being that it has the old style detergent dispenser so the rack has indentations on both sides. Near as I can tell there is not an OEM rack out there. Can I substitute a like size rack? The other problem being the middle spray arm is supplied by a tower set up. I really like this DW. Any suggestions?

could you post some pics.....not sure what you mean 'indentations' on both sides....model number may help as well...

for the most part, most racks from Ultrawash or Powerclean units will fit each other....the variations are of which side the dispenser is on, and some models have the silverware rack on the door...

even the non tower racks will fit and work, but you will have to flip your tower into the new one....

otherwise, finding these units on CL all the time, people swapping out for new stainless ones all the time.....they just don't know what they have.....

You need to find a rack with the "tower" (I call it a nozzle) to feed the upper wash arm.  Comparable WP racks won't be quite as deep because it's design to allow for the in-the-door flatware basket.  Do you use heated dry or use air dry?

Replacement Rack For An Older WP-KM DW

The center tower from your old rack will snap into ANY WP-KA-KM  WP built DW, so this is not something you need to worry about.
