I am picking up this machine later today for a rebuild . The model # on the machine is 4KUDP22OT2 Type MS I am giong to put a pump kit into it & give it a good cleaning. Has been on well water & has turned brown inside. I am not sure the year this machine was made but sure reminds me of the old KA I had that was still made by Hobart. I need new racks & priced them WOW BIG $$$$ . If I cannot find a set in good shape I will have to buy the new ones. Can anyone tell me anything about this dishwasher of give me any tips on cleaning the inside or repair. Before & after pic's to follow . Mike

I snatched up a KA DW years ago.

An old-age home was tossing three simultaneously. I assumed they were in good shape. The KA I got was! My inside was brown due to coffee stains. (I HOPE that is what that was!)

Being unsophisticated as I WAS...(no comments anyone!) I took a woven nylon *scrubbie* sponge and some cleanser(ajax or commet with bleach) and gently scubbed my little fingers to the bone. I then ran the machine a few times with nothing, then with laundry bleach then with regular detergent.

The cleanser foams a great deal, but at the end the machine was sparkling.

Good luck, and I can't wait to hear if there is an easier/better chemical to use. I am postive someone here knows of something better.

Racks

it seems as if Albany is a big KitchenAid place, I can keep my eyes out for a set of racks if you want. I see KA's behind every appliance store in town, plus curb-side on Wed nights...... I also might have a service manual, I will check that in a minute.... SteveD

It appears I need a new pump/motor. If anyone has a good used or rebuilt one I would love to know. Again Thank you & what ever you know about this dishwasher I would appreciate it. Mike
