Back when I was 18, I went into an antique store. It was one I hadn't been into. Upon walking in, I could tell it wasn't like the ones I normally go into. This one was more glass and china. As I was browsing, a woman who worked/owned there, came up to me and asked if there was anything I was looking for. Since I collected antique radios at the time, I asked if she had any. She got all offended and was extremely rude and replied "What do you think we are, a second hand store?" After I walked out, I thought, I should have responded "Yes, technically you are." |

Second-hand stores and thrift stores are my favourite places to hunt for vintage appliances, large and small. Although the supply is declining, a vintage washer, dryer or dishwasher in a second-hand store may actually be priced lower than more 'modern' ones!
On the other hand, the 'blessing' of eBay has led some thrift stores to price their vintage appliances according to what they see listed but that topic has already been discussed in depth.... |

What they are really doing... is denying one of their appliances a chance for a wonderful, advantaged life!!!
