Over the last 2 weeks, we had a dryer service running.
Basicly, one day, the dryer sensor stopped working. None of the sensor cycles sensed a load anymore. Timed drying still worked flawless.
We called them on a friday, they gave us a visit at tuesday. He went in, ran the service cycle, ordered 2 parts and left.
He came back today (a week later) and opend the machine for the first time. What he ordered was a NTC lockated near the heat exchanger and the sensor bar located in the drum. He discovered that the connection on the sensorbar was badly produced (to small teeths to grip on the connector) and thus lost connection. He replaced both sensors and ran the test cycle again. He then updated the electronic control (basicly, it was just spread open USB connection that fitted directly onto the bord), reran the test cycle and left.
Total work-time invested was 30 minutes. Of course covered by warranty.
Overall, the service it self was nice. He had a nice talk with grandma, was almost on time and even gave us the number of his sub company so we wouldn't have to call the service center again.
The machine it self is pretty easy to service as well and overall pretty ok build. Drum is supported by a bearing and 2 rollers I think. After the use it got there was barely any lint inside and everything looked nicely placed.
So far, pleased woth the dryer and the service. Would have never thought I'd say that about Whirlpool.
