Not in brilliant condition but reasonably priced. I suspect this model had not heater as there are no controls

These look similar to Kandya units which seem to have been around since the late 1950s - not seen in this finish before

Typical 1960s kitchen, the pictures are not the best but it looks to be a reasonable kitchen for the price

I have no doubt these are Habitat kitchen units, dating from a time when self assembly kitchens were largely in their infancy. At some point knobs have been added that were not originally intended - this was meant as a low cost, basic but stylish kitchen. With a bit more TLC it could be almost back to its original 1970s loveliness

Don't know a great deal about these, they were merged into the Radiation Group along with Jackson & Parnall but seem to have disappeared around the mid 1960s.

Doing these threads I have frequently posted Tricity President models, this was pretty much the last of the line in the late 1980s - fan oven and one halogen burner - the pinnacle of 1980s technology LOLOL Personally I much prefer the styling of the 1970s models

These are quite rare. I would date this as pre 1973 as my mother bought a Sunbeam iron that year with the much wider heel rest - that was a "Shot of Steam" and I would buy one in a heartbeat if I could find one

I have never actually used a dryer of this size but I did check the superficially similar but larger dryer at the weekend and it was rated at 2700 watts. Incidentally, I was some what surprised when I found the my (infamous?) Miele 4920 dishwasher had a rating on only 2000 watts, although I imagine that opens up more markets (like Australia/NZ) for the same machine without modification. Al |

Got quite a lot of kitchens to post tonight. These are Kandya (except for the sink which is Grovewood and rather older) - these were around from the late 1950s although they were more comment in the 1960s and even made it into the 1970s. I think its expensive for the age and condition

This is typical of a late 1960s early 1970s British kitchen right down to the colour. The Moffat hob indicates that it is more like mid 1970s and the size of the oven housing (the oven shown is a replacement) indicates that it would have had a Moffat oven too - so this would not have been a cheap kitchen - its still isn't given the opening bid value on the auction.

Before they went bust and the name was bought up by MFI.
This is definitely mid-1970s although the AEG Oven (the top oven/grill door opened rather like that of a Flair) I would have dated rather later than mid 1970s. The hob looks like a Cannon, the hood over its looks to be much later and is really out of character with the rest of the kitchen. I could almost be tempted and the price is right ...... Nah, I have spent far to much time fixing up my current kitchen to write that off CLICK HERE TO GO TO vacbear58's LINK on eBay |

And now a nice cooker to go into your 1970s kitchen, it is more mid to late 1970s. Its really just a further up market model to the Tricity President above, both companies were in the same group

From the later 1970s onwards, although in some ways retrogressive due to the positioning of the controls, this could be argued to be the most innovative cooker design at the time for 20 years, ultimately transforming the UK free standing cooker market.

Burco floor standing electric wash boiler. There is no agitator or any other sort of water movement device in this, just the heater element at the bottom of the tub. You washed the clothes in the sink and then put them in to boil.

Hi Al
Many thanks for posting the belling format info ... I have seen a few recently on eBay and some in really good condition... Those early versions of the format are the ones I like the most. I remember that brochure that unfolded to show the picture.. Wow! .. I will get a format one of these days! There was also a tricity double oven and a built in vogue fridge on eBay .. However they disappeared before I got the chance to upload the add! |

not sure I should post this here as it is neither British nor classic, but it certainly has a pleasing retro look about it. Its pricy for its age (I would reckon about 15 years) Siematic or no Siematic
