Hi Guys,
On my weekly perusal of Ebay I found a pamphlet for an interesting vintage washing machine known as the Tray-way washing machine. Not your conventional machine but in fact makes use of your common Australian double laundry troughs. Reading the pamphlet you can see it was an agitator device that clamped onto the back of the tub with agitator 'dangling' down into the trough but not hitting the bottom. The wringer is clamped onto the divider between the two troughs enabling the washed laundry to pass through to the second trough for rinsing (or holding, if using the agitated tub for rinsing also). I've never seen this particular form of machine and I guess it would maximise space in the laundry. Also enables you to have a full size machine too if you wish. Reading the first page the childish person inside me giggled a bit when they described it as a 'two finger' operation! lol Hope you guys find this interesting. I'll include photos of the pamphlet plus the Ebay link... Thanks, Matt :-D CLICK HERE TO GO TO mattywashboy's LINK on eBay |
