Checkrate/Likes I will admit that it is nice to know that I am not the only individual in this world that love / enjoy their Wringer Washer Machine (WWM) toys! I currently have a working Eaton, Vicking WWM model 813P for the last 5 years and including a Maytag N2LSP that I just purchased last June. Unfortunately, the pump on Maytag is seized and would like to find one in good condition or a rebuild; the rollers are not bad. As for the Wringer, from what I understand it is normal that rollers will slightly separate when putting through thicker clothing but, when you look under the wringer you see four bolts holding each a spring , would turning the bolts make the tension of the spring tighter for better wringing results? Any feedback and information is greatly appreciated and thank you in advance,

Checkrate/Likes It IS normal for the rollers to separate when putting clothes through the wringer. They'll also pop apart if they separate too widely. The thicker the material the more it will force the rollers apart. As for adjusting the 4 springs, I wouldn't recommend that. They should be tight and that is that. Some models had adjustable tension settings for the rollers. Too much tension and everything will be crushed and torn up. Maytags were not designed that way.Just make sure you set the tension lever before use. That's done with the bar on top of the wringer. Counter clockwise to drop the top roller the clockwise to set the tension. I've seen YouTube videos when it's not set properly, thus leaving WAY too much water in the clothes. Obviously they don't make pumps any more. Our guy Phil sells them, for a price. Last I saw on Ebay around $70.00. They're not complicated and I think I'd try rebuilding one myself first. Even if that doesn't work, you're no worse off then you are now. Lots of times they're just caked with soap and dried up gunk. Apparently a lot of people didn't rinse their machine out properly after each use. An easy fix. You'd have to make your own gasket to put it back together. Lots of stuff at the Hardware store for that. I remember some stuff my Dad used to have called Form-A-Gasket. Let me know if you want Phil's contact info. Larry

Checkrate/Likes Hi Larry thanks for the feedback. Yes, I would like Phil's contact info. I did remove the pump because, the shaft was stiff and difficult to turn so I thought maybe something was stuck around the impeller that was not the case. Rene

Checkrate/Likes Phil Hornyak at ovidny@gmail.com He has anything you'd need for a Maytag Wringer. Dave at Dave's repair has helped me out with a lot of stuff too. He even got me a replacement tub for my corroded E2LP a few years ago. That's the nice thing about Maytags. There were just so many of them that parts are still plentiful. That's why so many of us can still use them.
