calling all speed queen experts, I have 4 automatic washers that I switch out every couple of months, a Maytag, Frigidaire, Magic Chef, and a Speed Queen, I went to hook up the Speed Queen this afternoon, when I got her hooked up I turned the timer knob to spin very slow to start then a loud screaching noise then the tub lock up and it tripped the over load on the motor. So I had the hook up the Frigidaire and she's thumping away. My question is is my speed queen shot? She was running fine two months ago. Thanks, Mike

Might be a seized water pump.

It could also be the main tub bearing or even a sized idler pulley on the main drive belt.

got a chance to check my machine out and it has a seazed pump. she spins beautifully. The pump belt has broken is there any way to unseaze the pump or am I better off to get another one.

Thanks, Mike

could just work the pulley back and forth to see if some hardened lint or something is causing the jam.BTW,does '89 still have the 4-port dual section pump for "rim-flo"filter?
