Where is your machine located? Looks to be in pretty good condition.
Why does your wife want you to get rid of it?

Malcolm

Any modern washing machine can't compete or compare to this washer.  They're excellent cleaners and lint removers.  She may regret it once she uses a modern top loader and dumbed down water temps.

1-18 price

I paid $40 for the one I picked up in KC over the holidays but it also needed a new water inlet valve.

I agree on the performance. You can have a wash with so many suds you think it will take a couple rinses and after the first spray rinse during spin the first rinse is almost clear. Not to mention the clothes are very dry after the final spin. And done in about 30 minutes. I wouldn't trade it!

many here would claim, get rid of the wife/partner, keep the machine!...

cant say for all, but many cars and machines will outlast most relationships....

second question is who does the laundry?....you might want to consider doing all the laundry yourself, versus how many headaches you may get from a new machine, and from her when it doesn't work......

many here would say, "I told you so!"

not judging, just sayin'.....

I handle all of the laundry! I have a beautiful Maytag set that I use for my everyday washing. she wants the Frigidaire out of the garage!

I made the mistake of giving in to somebody who hates appliances and looks at them like just a machine or object. No sense of art or personality. I see character and charm in my machines and take really good care of them. The neighbors at first were a bit uncomfortable seeing six washing machines on the back porch but,  when I went and saved one of the neighbors Shredmores from a broken lid switch after they were told by a local repairman it needed a new transmission.  I now have eight machines there and not any complaints from my neighbors. I never allow ANYONE to yell me what I may or may not have or keep. No matter who they are. Friend, family or foe.absolutely NOBODY tells me what I can or can't have AND they won't have a chance to manipulate or verbally abuse me. Once they realize that,to me,appliances come first before anyone else. Everything and everyone else are second. If you like that washer, it's not that big. If you want to keep it, keep it. Don't make the mistake of defeat. Just saying.

$100.00-$150.00 from a collector. General public probably not interested.

Jetawayjuan!

i like your laundryroom set-up with your maytag daily-drivers. and of course, i noticed your framed, "philco" washer advertisement on the wall. very cool!!!

thanks for sharing those pictures. it's too bad your wife doesn't like the frigidaire. i think it's an interesting washer, just even for the fact of the way it does it's "thumper" agitating.

you're in buckeye, arizona, huh??
hmmmmmmmm????

Yeah tucson.
I don't know of any vintage appliance store here in tucson, that I can think of? I'll have to ask Roger, Mark, Nate, or Dave about that when I see them or talk to them.

.
At one time had used appliance place on4th ave across from a 'Value Village' thrift store and south of The Food Conspiracy Co-Op.
That was 22 years ago..I think now only the Food Conspiracy remains.
I am drinking an ice coffee as I write this like I often did when I lived in tucson. The worlds best beverage for living in a desert environment.
