Soooo let's rewind...it's Thursday 18th April 1996, Mark Morrison's Return of the Mack is at number one in the charts and the This Morning is showing on the TV....there is a knock at the door, "good morning Mr Scarlet" where do you want your new Hotpoint top loader put..." The delivery men place the new machine in the kitchen, unwrap it and that's where it stood for the next 19 years....

I collected this brand new Hotpoint 9605 yesterday from Norwich, the transit packaging still intact in the drum, pipes still wrapped and the sticker still on the filter clean tray!! How weird to buy a new machine for £565.99 and never use it !!

Cheers Keith

What a great find -- all shiny and new! Mr. Scarlet's loss is your gain!

What a super great find! I just love new, never used.

Will you use it, or keep it as found?

I love hearing about these "New In Box" stories. I always find it kind of mindblowing that someone would spend that much on a machine and then never use it!
