Phil, the official Frigidaire name is "Aztec Copper", while the later shaded version is called "Colonial Copper".

Aztek Copper - like that one. :-) Colonial Copper - less red? Thanks Tom.

I've seen it a few days ago. Too bad the control panel glass is cracked at the exact same place as mine. I'm wondering if these cracked from the heat of the 8" burner next to it. The 40" models had a lower wattage burner in that spot so I guess they were less likely to crack.

Mine is even worse as it also lacks the chrome ring around the clock. I still hope to find a replacement glass for it as it matches with my yellow 1959 refrigerator.

Maybe

the owners and users of this stove had a bad day cooking and moved the pot against that glass(or lower height pan), causing it to crack. Not that your idea isn't right, PhilR - I have no idea on that one. How did your chrome become missing on your panel? Did someone damage it and you removed it?

I can't tell but I don't have it... And I doubt the previous owners could as they had just bought the house it was in!

Phil, the picture makes the color a little more orange than what Aztec Copper really is. Colonial Copper has a medium brown base color, with dark brown edge shading ( a lot like Maytag had on their 06 series).

There was also a shaded version of Aztek Copper before Colonial Copper was introduced (around 1966-67).

Such a nice color - maybe Aztec Copper isn't what I would necessarily use, but it would be a nice Fall color change. Who changes their appliances with seasons, using colors to match, anyone?
