Hi, maybe you all know but for me was a surprise to see a LG (WM4270HVA) made in China. This model just arrived to Mexico and up to now is the only one made there, all the others are coming from South Corea. Maybe I was just lost.

Doesn't surprise me. Samsung started making major appliances in China, an when i mean major, i am talking £1000+ fridge freezers. I doubt quality as well, as Samsung have had a lot of problems with their mother borders in their washing machines. LG are known for using substandard materials in their machines such as the shock absorbed and supporting arms which can fail. Several videos on youtube about them.

I stick with Bosch. If their machines aren't made in Germany, they are made in Eastern europe. They made some of their washer dryers in China for a while but stopped due to cost reasons of shipping them over.

Reliable made in china?

Lg's small fridges here are from China, medium to large from Mexico (CiudadJuarez) and top of the line from Corea. Tv's are mexican. I know that LG have several factories around the world, the only thing, like you said, is if they are reliable like the corean ones.

Made In China does not necessarily mean unreliable, after all where are Ipads, Iphones, high tech phones etc made?

LG washing machines are pretty good machines, A few of my friends have LG's that were made in China and have no issues with them. Proven more reliable than my Hotpoint that is made in Poland and has failed once already with a pressure switch issue at 5 months old. Though saying that, my parents Zanussi is made in Poland and is going strong and never let them down. Its down to component specification and components.

A good quality machine would be Miele and I would love to have one if I fancied spending so much on a washing machine, otherwise an LG looks good and innovative.

Don't let where its made put you off as these products can be just as good as any other machine made in Europe. After all, made in the Far East is the way its all going.
