I know this isn't the timed bleach dispenser. So If I add bleach in the dispenser is it put directly into the tub when it's added at the beginning of the wash? Is it just there to be an easier way to add the bleach instead of directly into the tub?

Which is a no no on adding bleach. Which should be added at the end of the wash cycle.

Thanks, Floyd

I use the fragrance free clorox so I couldn't really tell when it was added.

It's pretty much just a funnel and a hose by that point.

That said, the "timed" beach dispensers of early Maytags really only delayed the introduction of the bleach by a couple of minutes after the wash cycle started. Kenmore was the company that really got the delayed beach dispenser right but waiting until the last 4-6 minutes of a wash cycle to add the bleach.

bleach

Thank you! That's what I figured. I rarely use chlorine bleach anyway.

Just as an FYI, the "timed" dilution dispenser was omitted beginning with March 1975 production of the A806.
