Looks like a Wards/Norge Agitator or WCI Kelvy ???

I blew it up with the touch screen. It first looked like Gibson.

Well, you'll need the 4-month warranty, if not wish it were longer...

Wonder what kind of damage that top o' the dryer may have suffered from the washer lid opening on it...

It's a Norge.   It's one of those "burping" filters and is missing the filter pan and FS dispenser.

For that money you could have a WP/KM DD

Beige. Slow and weak dryer, looks like it was run on a long or bad vent by the burned spot on the heater inlet. Feh. And the Maytag name ended up on these, how humiliating.

The dryer needs to be taken apart and cleaned out. Burning on the heater box happens when the airflow gets restricted--sometimes due to restriction in the front channel of the drum behind the lint filter. Mine was down to a quarter-sized hole through which all of the air was attempting to pass. Ralph helped tear the whole thing apart, and we vacuumed about ten pounds of lint out of the works and the cabinet.

Or, it could be on a crummy vent line. But again, lint will build in the ducts if the case.

Know of two people who had those terrible dryers; My friend Sam had one with the Crosley label, and my neighbor Missy had one branded Magic Chef. Both hated them to pieces!

Same dryer design (and probably the washer also) as the Norge-tag set I refurbished and sold for my aunt.  The dryer was badly clogged with lint.  I used it a few times for testing before selling (after the refurb) and it worked nicely but the design glitches were obvious and I imagine it clogged up again sooner than later.
