I am seeking a twin tub style portable washing machine made by
Hoover or Maytag..
Maytag A50 and Hoover 0519 for example..
Would be nice if in good working order or repairable condition with all their parts and little to no rust.
It seems the ones closest to me (on CL) want more than what I would pay for a new(er) automatic washer.
I am located in Knoxville, TN. May be able to drive within 100 miles..

Hoover twin tub machines easily ship via UPS or FedEx ground if carefully crated/shipping boxed. Mine was an eBay sale which arrived very much intact using UPS. Mind you the seller didn't take off the wheels so they got a bit damaged during shipping (one or two poked through the box), but otherwise the unit was fine.

Another option would be to use a crating and shipping service like Craters and Freighters. You would have to arrange payment to an out of area seller, but sometimes they are open to taking PayPal or something.

Finally if you ask *REALLY* nicely a member who lives locally to where you've found something will work with you.

Say all this because rule #1 of this game is the thing or things you want the most rarely are in your neck of the woods. Some members have driven several hours to collect something, others have just had to lose out because getting the thing from say Canada to the USA is just not going to happen. *LOL*

I am still on the hunt for one of these awesome machines.

A local home rehab/recycle store carries used appliances and they mentioned they had a few twin tub machines in the past.
I told them to keep a lookout for one and to hold on to it til I return and I would be checking in weekly since it is close to where I work..

BTW. My mother and I love Keeping Up Appearances :)

Is Michigan too far?

I found this but it is an "Easy" brand.
