Well, at 115 volts, that dryer is best teamed up with a modern day front-load washer.

Never had a Hamilton dryer other than one later, BOL Holiday series (with the big D shaped window) and it was a rust bucket from the 40 years of the standing pilot. Someday, I'll drag one in locally, always wanted to try one, with Sun-E-Day drying of course.


I believe you could wire this for 115 or 230 volts depending on your need.

Greg, you're right.  I didn't fully examine the tag, and it does look like it can be wired for 230 volts. 

 

My guess is that it already has been.  I can't imagine anyone putting up with sluggish 115 volt drying for so many years.

Seems vintage Hamilton dryer finds are usually gas, yes?  Electric somewhat rare?

I seem to remember "Hamilton's"  in gas company show rooms.  Back when you could make easy monthly payments on your gas bill.  They do have a distinctive  classic look to them.
