From this vantage point...

they don't project quality nor look, if I may say it, classy; not to judge performance, reliability on the cover alone. I had no idea Magic Chef made washers and dryers.

And the origin of the term "Tragic Chef."

I had a similar set bought new in 1990. Great washer outlasted its matching dryer many years. These were often sold heavily discounted. I had purchased a MC refrigerator IIRC, MC sent a voucher for a couple hundred dollars off the purchase price of a laundry pair. Sometimes when we are "starting over" as I was at the time every $ counts. This set is most likely older than 1990 because of the side opening lid. -A

The panel

I like the panels - not as slick looking as other washers or dryer in panels, but they appeal to me, in some way, even if these have 'TragicChef" labels.

Air - were these suds savers? I see quick wash -was it delicate or regular wash?
(oh-oh, I'm asking washer questions, lol)

Phil

I am not sure Phil, Mine was not a SS. They may of had SS machines under the MC label. -A
