Thats the door handle not the door latch, all washers built in the last 30+ years use plastic for both of these parts.

So that you would have to replace it of course!

The Duet I refurbed a few years ago had a cracked door handle.  I tried gluing, didn't work, too much force on the area when pulling on it.  Replacement at the time was only $16.  Surely you can find one somewhere and replace it yourself.

that is impossible for me to do i do not have the needed tools even if i would buy them it would cost me a fortune and like i said not even sure it is replaceable and if i did have to have that fix i would call in a tech as this is something i would never fix myself and with 11 years of use it would be good to have a tech inspect the washer because if a tech told us it would be wise to consider a replacement set we will if we have to but 1 step at a time

That handle is a few bucks, and comes off with a basic screwdriver. Those 2 screws in your first photo are the only ones you need to unscrew to fi it.

Yeah, two screws, appear to be torx.

You're in Canada ... can't say about there but Lowe's here lists a 5-piece torx screwdriver set (T10, T15, T20, T25, T30) for $9.98.

ANd be careful with new Torx driver sets. I bought a cheap set at a local tool warehouse to work on our Maytag DW and the screws just didn't want to come out properly. I finally went down to ACE and bought a Craftsman Torx set for only a few dollars more. The Torx screws came out with ease with that set. Why? When you looked at the points at the end of the drivers you could see the Craftsman set had far more precision in the sizing than the cheap set did. It made all the difference in the world!
