Anyone know where I can purchase new rollers for a Frigidaire 1-18 dryer model DCD3T? Also need the felt drum seal. Any suggestions appreciated. Thanks!

I've had fine luck by taking the rollers of their spindle, wiping everything clean, then re-assembling with a drop or two of 3-in-1 oil. It quiets them down and gives me another two years of use.

Actually there is a groove cut in the roller shaft that can be filled with a high quality grease which last a lot longer than just oiling them. The problem with 1-18 dryers is the rubber often separated from the plastic wheel, the best of the 1-18 dryers had only two rollers in the rear [ the last models they built ] before that roller problems were very common. The felt seals can probably be borrowed from other dryer brands.

thanks all

for the good counsel. Coldspot- let me know what you find. I'm not doing the work myself but the guy who is said both the rollers were "shot"....so apparently it has two.

1-18 Dryer rollers

It would have a minimum of 4 and most had 5, 2 in the front and 2 or 3 in the back.

Another good thing to know about rebuilding 1-18 dryers is a MT dryer blower fits a 1-18 perfectly, and FD used the same type of cheap attachment of the blower to the motor that MT did, so if the blower shows any sign of coming loose replace it now while you are in there.

I have 2 5309956509 rollers and a felt seal part # 5308950059. I have other rollers, but i think they are for the Gibson/Kelvinator style dryers, not the 1-18 dryers.

The rollers are $11.15 each and the felt kit is $10.95(my cost at the time I bought them). Plus the cost of shipping. You can email me at goodsonjohn@msn.com.
