I'm stinkin' that dryer shows signs of WCI corruption in the timer dial area.

I debated about whether to post this one or not because I wasn't sure about the dryer.  The cabinet is definitely GM, not WCI, and there is a "1-18" on the console, but I couldn't make out the GM in the logo and I wondered about the graphics on the timer.  This could have been offered right after the conversion.

The dryer looks more like a newer Hamilton/ Kelvinator/Gibson then the White Westinghouse 4.7 models with cross vane tumbling.  These models were "VacuDry" and had numerous flaws. One weekend, Odds see them at the stores and, not long after, the dump or a used appliance dealership. Their washers were o.k. when WCI had the Franklin's with the agitator filters similar to the GE Filter Flows.  I just didn't like the indexing and the upper vanes on their agitators. Otherwise, they were o.k. imho. I was just a bit more in tune with the 1--18 machines and other previous RapiDry spinning models. I loved the capacity and perforated tub design burning also the RapiDry. 1000 feature. Now that I own and admire my LGs,  the pain and sorrow of FRIGISCARE and their fate has, pretty much, ended. I've had their newer fringes, ranges and front loading pairs. They all work well but break down a lot from just regular use and are expensive to repair. My convection range is not turning the oven element on. It only turns on the broil element then an error code comes on after about an hour and you have to turn the circuit breaker off.

The washers all had become loud from the bearings and/or the spider pullies. The dryers had to be lubes constantly to stop the loud squeaks and the dishwashers suck too. I found an unused one in the box for a hundred dollars and it sucked

The dryer is a GM. I have the control panel from the matching washer which is from 1976 so not it's not even a very late model among the GM products. When WCI replaced the GM products, not only the cabinets changed but the GM badge was gone from the logo which is visible on the lower left corner of the control panel and the Frigidaire badge was displayed en in the center the 3 squares from that badge.

I wonder if that dryer was sold at certain stores only. I remember 1-18's sold at KMart looked different from the run of the mill ones.

No Problem, Lawrence

So maybe it's a Canadian Frigidaire or a KMart Frigidaire? No comparison between a sovereign nation and a retail hole intended. That round cycle layout does not look like what I remember seeing on late 70s machines, WITH THE EXCEPTION OF THE LAST CUSTOM IMPERIAL PAIR WITH THE PUSH BUTTON CONTROLS THAT REMOTELY CONTROLLED THE POINTER BEHIND THE ROUND WINDOW, but that was a long time ago. I don't even remember that kind of a dial on the funny washer sold at a discount chain named George's up here in 1976. It looked like a 1-18 machine, but inside the perforated tub was a little space capsule agitator so it was a 12 lb. washer, but it still had the rectangular timer markings.

I have no idea where these were sold or why they looked like that but these weren't sold in Canada (we only had the regular line).  So we didn't have the "Crown", "Custom" or machines like the 1976 WS washer from which I kept the top or the matching dryer in the first post of this thread.
