It's sleek but the fluorescent light must have shown right in peoples eyes.
The side opening French doors look cool, but I'm guessing there were numerous burns due to wide arms and elbows while maneuvering utensils in and out. Think of how hot the inner surface of the door is when in operation. A drop down door is bad enough, but people are more likely to lift up or to the side, rather than down when carefully moving a hot dish. Plus a drop down is a nice shelf. I wonder if that control panel shipped separate, and was merely set in place once installed. It would have made it a lot easier to ship and move. It sure has aged well. Look at that control panel glass, it's like new, like the rest of it. It almost looks like something from the 80s. I don't see any convenience outlets. |

Another one with a cracked glass?! I can't see that on my CRT computer screen, even when I zoom in! A few years, I passed getting a white 1957 with a cracked glass and I now have a 1959 French-door range with a crack panel glass as I got it with a 1959 fridge I really wanted! I hope I'll find a replacement for it someday... |

It's a standard 40" range; the doors are hinged at the bottom like most ranges. The French doors were only on some 30" models, and wall ovens. |
