You should not need to use teflon tape or any other kind of sealant with a washer hose. The fitting will need a hose washer, however, if there's not already one in the hose you purchased. These are readily available at the garden section of any hardware store. Just don't use the vinyl kind - use the black rubber flat or o-ring type. Vinyl doesn't hold up to hot water very long, and I believe red rubber also gets hard and brittle over time. |
