LOL   OK, here's a challenge for you:  a 1957, 58, or 59 Hotpoint dishwasher with the 'double deck' wash system.

Bonus points if its Turquoise!!

I've been searching SF Bay Area CL for an Easy Spindrier -- an older model with ribbed decorative trim, big levers on the front and faucets for filling and rinsing, in working condition or in need of relatively minor fixes.   They are scarce around here, and in the rare instance when one turns up it's either overpriced or too new.

I question whether or not that combo unit in reply #6 has a frig in it. The DW is evidently a machine that was switched out with the original. That being Frigidaire.

But credit does have to go out to Robert for his diligence in trying to track down some wish items for people here. Good luck!

The best may be last...
I say maybe because I am only guessing as the pic was found by me elsewhere.

(Craig's) Ad copy:

This 50-60 year old stove works and needs an investment of time.
-All 6 burners work
-Two ovens work
-Two broilers work
What needs the investment
-Electrical chord in the back needs to be replaced to enable outlet on stove to work
-3 of the burner covers are broken
-Some screws are missing and need to be replaced
-Dents and chips in the surface need touching up
Stove works well but current owner doesn't have the resources to fix it up and it's too much stove for our family's needs. Needs to be picked up.

Thank you, "BoJack" for this topic & those finds!

daveamkrayoguy's profile picture

Also referring to Post #26:

I find it hard to believe you would need that much width for four burners, in place of the usually-seen six--but back in an era where there really was "something built for everyone", no surprise!

Now to see which ranges would be in which of the four available colors for my hypothetical project from my book HOW TO BUY MAJOR HOME APPLIANCES (by Charles Klamkin) depicting if a number of houses were to actually buy Kalmkin's recommendations and if there were enough basic appliance provisions in every configuration & even model (Fridge, Dishwasher, Washer, Dryer, Freezer and Gas/Electric range) for the kitchen & laundry of each of those homes... (Ranging (no pun intended) from 8, to 16, to 24 households, so far!)

HELLO ROBERT,

You sure are GOOD at rooting these appliances out.

I'm looking for a Maytag Early 60's A700 / 701 Turquoise
washer. I have the Dryer.

The closer to NJ the better. I would rather be able to
pick it up than have to pay shipping. Got so much else
going on to get settled in the house.

Not of immediate need, but I would like an Electric Sink/DW
combo -- Kaiser / Hotpoint? No rush, but if one was w/in
driving distance and the price is right, I may jump earlier
than I need to.

THANKS for being so kind and doing All this "legwork"

Best Washes,

Louis

A new request...

extmaxspin's profile picture
Hey Robert, since you have quite the knack for searching this stuff out, I've got something that's on the top of my wish list...

I'm looking for a 1965 Kenmore 800 series washer. There was one posted a month or so ago in Ft Wayne IN, and since I'm within day road trip distance to there from up in Michigan, I took off down there last weekend to get it.

Unfortunately, the condition was not nearly as good as what the seller was representing to me. It's not running, and at best it's likely to be a parts donor for when I find a better machine. I've not yet had a chance to investigate what it's issues might be. Even if I am able to get it going, there are some features that have been removed over time, that would keep it from feeling like the machine from my youth.

Thanks for undertaking these searches for all of us, and good luck!

Mark

Well looky here, in the Bay Area Easy..

Ad copy:

This is a rare opportunity for a real off grid laundry solution. This is an uber rare Easy Spindrier washing machine. This is a deluxe model with waterpump. It has 2 tubs one is large with agitator and the other is a high speed spinner to spin dry clothes.
I have used this and also a more common wringer washer. Wringers are difficult to use and modern clothes do not hold up. Easy Spindrier is the answer.
Machine is in perfect working order and I can demonstrate.
