Like you would to it's commercial brother. Only set it for about 150F and the machine will work great.

Always will have a warm spot in the heart for KitchenAid Custom models. One of the few BOL's where you knew you were getting the same high quality as the TOL of the brand. Our KDC-17 was a great little machine. And yes, back then we did have HOT water in the house.

You are so right. When you really think about how many times you use alternate cycles, you generally realize you only use full cycle 98% of the time.

 

A few Bells and Whistles are nice, but with the Older KAs the Custom was the same machine as the rest of the line.
