Hi, does anyone know what could be causing a shrieking sound from my Servis Quartz 262 dryer? Basically, it starts fine and within about 10 seconds makes a fairly ungodly shreiking sound. It's continuous sound, though I turned it off immediately so as not to bring hoards of concerned neighbours thinking I was harming animals... Additionally any ideas where I could find a replacement fluff filter for the drum? I've got a sinking feeling that it won't be easy...

Hi Whispermatic,
Could you maybe post a short vid clip, so we can get a sample of what you're getting from the dryer? At a guess, I'd say drum bearings, if they have them, which I think they do. Could be belt related maybe. The best members to ask would be ChesterMikeUK, MatchboxPaul, ChanceSkyDiver or ServisChris. ChesterMike is the leading authority on Servis, that I know of. ServisChris had a Quartz 262 for a while, so I'd definitely consult him about your issue, & I believe chesterMike has the matching Mk600 washer. Any of the above referenced members will be able to help you, & either point you in the direction of spares, or might have spares they'd send on to you. Hope this helps.
