One can't help wonder if these people are looking at the RIDICULOUS new appliance sites, and get their pricing from them.

They obviously aren't aware of the major disconnect between quality older appliances going for almost nothing, and new crappy garbage appliances going for absolutely preposterous amounts.

I haven't looked at, or bought new appliances for almost a decade. I recently looked at the GE site and was floored. There's no way I want any of it. And they are obviously over-compensating for admitted bad quality by over-pricing.

Apparently GE's customer base is the upper 10% of income earners, ..... or those fools who want to LOOK like one.
lol.

I like GE Advantium ovens-but don't need or want to spend that much on one.If you really want to spend that kind of money-buy REAL commercial kitchen machines! The OR one I have is one third the cost of those shown.

"Probably as old as the house, over 70 years"

Not only are they clueless as to the worth of the appliance, they are clueless as to its age.

It won't.  It's destined to be relisted time and time again, just like the $600 Chemex Automated coffee maker that's been relisted over and over for about a year.

I've seen Amana RR's at St. Vinnies..... usually covered in grease and costing about $5.

They require a dolly to move, and probably another person.
