Now and then you come across American appliances on this side of the big pond. Lately I have seen quite a few, I thought it would be nice to share them here. I'm not going to post new or used SxS fridges unless they are very special. SxS fridges have become very fashionable here, it's sort of a status symbol.

I'll start with some dryers.

First is a Kenmore gas dryer. It came with a move to Europe. For use in Europe a voltage converter is needed.

Next is a Maytag Electric dryer, a DE307. I wonder how they connected this. A normal fuse would be 16Amps, not enough for a regular American dryer. But a lot of American appliances were available for the international market, so perhaps this is one of those.

There were some adds for General Electric appliances too, one for two new GE dryers (NIB) and an add for a used washer and dryer. Can't find them anymore, vanished from the earth.

Here's a Tappan range. There is some interest in them, some people will probably wonder why. lol

I found the GE dryers again. Two NIB GE dryers. Only €399.- ($425.-). They're electric. Same question about the connection for these. Suggestion is to use them for drying horse blankets.

We have a vintage Westinghouse roaster. It doesn't come with a cord, which may explain why it looks new.

Vintage Frigidaire fridge. Worked the last time (ten years ago). The door lock is broken though.

Antique General Electric fridge. It's out of use recently. Which I guess leaves us in the dark if it works or not.

Seems like someone is importing American fridges. They are all for sale, you can choose, restored and unrestored.

Brands are Kelvinator, Philco, Prestcold, General Electric, Frigidaire, Crosley, Coldspot, Hotpoint, Westinghouse, Servel and Admiral.

Off topic because it's not really American, but I wanted to share this anyway. A Fisher & Paykel toploader. It has been advertised for the umpteenth time. I was somewhat interested but the seller got back to me about the shipment questions I had. I think he doesn't want to get rid of it, he even raised the price from 100 to 120 euros. Pfff!

The old American fridges are interesting -- I'm no expert, but the green GE looks prewar? Obviously a repaint but it actually doesn't look bad in avocado.

I'm surprised there would be enough of a market for the old clapped out models to warrant transatlantic shipping. They could be cleaned up but it would be quite a gamble on them working. Not such an issue when you buy them cheap locally over here....

GM manufactured Frigidaires in France for decades. It's an European model. My husband grew up with a French Frigidaire.

Not only did we get Frigidaire fridges in Europe but also KitchenAid dishwashers, also made in France IIRC.

The F&P washer appears to be a Pride model (probably MW512) which wasn't available on the US market.  It's smaller capacity, considerably less features.  One cycle selection button toggles through the choices, which doesn't include Perm Press or Favorite, and the cycles cannot be customized.  No auto-sense water level, only manual selection (three instead of five).  Three temp choices instead of five.  No soak option.  No Eco Active recirculation treatment.
