I am very puzzled by this set….The washer lid opens to the side and the only ones I have ever seen that were Amana ALWAYS opened to the back. Is it possible that this is one of the very last solid tub washers???? Also the washer and dryer do not seem to have the small raised lip around the top of them either. I know the last Speed Queen washers made with a solid tub were like this. The TOL Speed Queen washers at the end of the solid tub ones did not time fill either. They had a metered fill. Certainly looks like a solid tub machine to me.

It's a perforated basket design, made by SQ in the early 80's. I had a washer just like this, good machine overall. It used lots of water and was loud, but did a good job.

If it is not leaking by now, it is probably okay.   They were hit or miss.  Please correct me if I am wrong but I think these were from the time period where coin-ops could wear the SQ badge.  The home machines had to be labeled Amana? The set looks nice for it's time.  Art
