Looks like the dryer is an 806 too.  The console panel appears to be glass.

A very nice set, and a steal at $100.

They are from 1975 as the dryer is a HDE-806 and it has the the bright dial and gold paint on the control panel which were new for that year. Shortly after, the small door HOH dryers were replaced by the large door models.

I have a similar set, but the washer is a suds saver model. I don't remember if my set is shaded gold.

Me too and what's with all these gold-paneled center dial Maytag dryers that are still HOH's???? That crossover was for such a short period of time and yet we keep seeing these up for sale.

Maytag must have sold many of these in the mid-seventies!

Yeah, I'd wager harvest gold was the most popular color during the period Maytag offered it.

I think white has always been the best seller, but I would like to live in your harvest gold reality too.
