My Frigidaire sounds similar with the alternating spray arms. The lower on mine is the Blade Spray so it sounds slightly different. I've had great results with it. I'm very happy.
I have used Finish tabs exclusively for the past several years but recently I bought some of the Sam's pacs and the work pretty well I must say. I add a wee bit of STPP to each load too. Keeps the inside of the dishwasher nice and clean. |

Your Frigidaire is impressively quiet for a contractor-grade machine. Cascade Platinum pacs do the best job in my dishwasher, as well.
Ashtrays are a challenge for the upper rack. I'd forgotten how a bit of mashed-in ash would sometimes be left behind---even in soft water. Hard to believe it's been well over a decade since my last Merit. 🚬 |

It does get the ashtrays clean frig, even in top rack. Also dries much better than the landlord supplied GE at the condo. CLICK HERE TO GO TO washman's LINK |

at that under loaded machine.....LOL
but it does sound like a lot of action going on inside. I have hard water and I use finish powerball with no problems at all, although I've heard Cacade Platinum is best, but some people say it leaves your dishes with a detergent taste? I dunno, I've never tried it.....but many people here use it, so I doubt that reviewer. |

I run mine everyday and sometimes it's def not a full load. I try to use the Top Rack (Energy Saver) cycle when it's not full. I'll space everything out evenly so the sprays can do a better job since it's a shorter cycle. But even on "Normal" Heated Wash...it runs typically for maybe 1 hour 15-20 minutes. Top Rack is just over an hour. It doesn't just use the top rack spray though...which is weird, but whatever. lol

I wonder what type of pump this dishwasher uses. |

This is the current style of Frigidaire main wash pump. Some are slightly different, but are the same Johnson Electric architecture.
Pump impeller up front. Grinding chamber in back. 2900-3100rpm .7-1.2amps www.repairclinic.com/PartDetail/b... The much older, Askoll-sourced pumps looked something like this. product-images.highwire.com/45599... |

I plan on getting my dad a Frigidaire dishwasher model fbd2400kw. I also plan on trying the cascade platinum packs in the lemon burst scent. I do have plenty of their sister rinse agent. |

The cascade paks consistently outperform all other brands I have used, even the Finish powerball recommended by the manufacturer. |
