Hello all. I've got a dispenser motor that is getting stuck and needs to be banged on about every other wash on my Duet (GHW9150PW1). Before I order a new one, I was wondering if it's possible to bypass it entirely? The dispenser itself is barely ever used and we could do without it. Just thought I'd ask. :) Thanks!

Dispensing

Other than dispensing at the right time, what is the issue?
Is it causing some other problem?

Sorry I wasn't specific :) it completely locks up the washer with error code "f13" and won't run again until the motor turns again.

The washer "communicates" with the dispenser motor. If the motor doesn't signal that it is positioned correctly, the washer will give an error code - as you know now. You might find a cheap used spare online or someone here could tell you how to fix it, if possible.

Motor Binding?

Is the motor simply binding at the diverter?
Maybe you can disassemble and clean the dispenser enclosure, if not done so already. At least before you start looking for parts.

My recollection of the dispenser drive mechanism is quite fuzzy.

The problem is definitely in the motor itself. I might try disassembling that. Meanwhile, I just ordered another one.

I was hoping that I could just disable the dispenser position check in the program somehow, but I'm guessing that would actually take a reprogramming of the computer. Too bad it's not like my old Leading Edge PC. Every component can be enabled or disabled with a simple jumper setting or DIP switch. :)
