It looks like either someone dredged the river near by,

Or

the river overflowed and flooded the basement.

And, it's an authentic Midwestern basement.... painted green.  I love this.

No, that washer is absolutely useless, but the other stuff.....

I pulled a 56 duomatic out of a basement and let me just tell you that you need one hell of a good appliance dolly and three or four guys with some muscles to move that bastard. By the end of that afternoon I seriously considered switching to collecting stamps.

That sounds like the time I pulled a 1947 Servel out of a basement. There were only 10 or so steps, but it took all 4 of us giving it all, to get that out. And that was after removing the shelves, drawers, door, etc.

She wrote back to me today: "....Someone has spoken for the washer and is supposed to pick it up next week. But I will let you know if something falls through with it. "
Her name is Traci.

and just to clarify....

delaneymeegan's profile picture
I didn't initially inquire about the washer. It's not my genre'.

She responded to me, then you noted that you didn't get a response, so I asked her "I forgot to ask about the washer" , and to my surprise she responded as previously quoted.

So if the other party does pick up, the big mystery will be..... WHO or WHOM!

Good luck to whom ever wins this apparently heavy beast.

You saved it.

The photo reminded me of a movie - Creature from the Black Lagoon. I mean, is this not the most murky and mysterious looking object thanks to the grain? In any case,
good luck with this and keep us posted.

It looks so bad because if was in the basement of an old house that was converted to an office in the 70's so they took all the appliances down there instead of putting them to the curb. So hopefully it wasn't used that much. My brother told me it had a 1/2 inch of dust on it lol

Duomatic

Is home now sitting in the back of the truck till tomorrow hopefully. It's actually in good shape the motor turns and the outer tub doesn't appear to have a rust hole or signs of water leaking at anytime. The boot is bad but I figured that would be the case.

Standing water

I'm sure that this machine can be fully restored. But my first concern is what happened that water was allowed to stand in this machines cylinder for a long period of time.It was there a long time to leave those kind of markings.

Well I got it out today with the help of some friends. The blower motor was sized up got that working and the 2 cups of lint off the blower cage. I think I found out why it had standing water in it at one time (see pic's) the timer is working some what we'll need oil. The boot is bad but the pump turns trans moves solenoids click/bang but I think the motor will need some work.

I can and will sympathise with the whole "She/He/They didn't reply to my email" issue.

A lot of people are useless with email because they don't check it. They prefer wasting their time with text messages.

Some people read and see things, but just don't reply until you "light a fire under them" as Launderess says.

Its exceedingly frustrating when you are inquiring about goods or services!

Nice find. I hope everything works out for you.
