Here are some pics of my new laundry closet added in a closet of an extra bedroom. All things considered it was very easy but buying the pex crimping tool was pricey. My 2004 Danby is shown when it's finished but a Bosch ventless dryer and 2.2 cf washer is on order (both open box ebay stuff).
Even with having to haul the washed laundry back out to the garage at the moment w/out a dryer in the closet I'm very happy with the results. The 1992 Kenmore 70 series washer and gas dryer aren't going anywhere for big loads. I'm hoping the Bosch will hold somewhat larger loads than the Danby.
