I don't blame you. It's just as I suspected. Only other difference is the cosmetic design or lack there of. I don't need to go off topic, but I believe the new GE's use oil filled gearboxes. They sound similar to the whirlpool/maytag clones. |

The new GE washer platform has no transmission, no gearbox, and no oil.

Thanks for clearing that up. I was dumbfounded as to why the new GE' have that gear whirring sound. I guess the GE washers up until 201 had oil filled gearboxes. I guess that's why the GE's had that chunka chunka sound. |
