These were second generation James dishwashers. Most were gravity drain which is why you often saw them mounted up like microwaves today. The portable, which rode on a cart like portable TVs used to use, did have a drain pump. They did not handle food particles well. The most unique thing about them was that they finished the cycle by fogging the load with steam which condensed on everything, essentially giving a distilled water rinse while heating the load for flash drying. People who live in marinas report seeing long unused LTs on cabin cruisers. I think that they were the only dishwasher to use a spring-wound timer which you turned all the way couterclockwise to start and then it ticked down. Needless to say, they were small units (but available in three sizes based on the number of place settings they held) and the racking was very regimented.
