Hi
I've just been asked by a friend who has a grey fascia Zanussi WD1012 how to remove the timer knob. It's started slipping when selecting programs and he can't see how to release the knob.
Anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks
Ian

Hi Ian

There is a small hole in the inner knob where you insert a paper clip or very small screwdriver. Push this in and turn the inner knob anticlockwise until you here a small 'click' after which it should lift off. Once inside there is a nut which needs undoing. Be careful not to lose the spring which is behind it. This 'inner bush' is often the bit that wears out (I have attached a picture of this). The teeth which grip the timer cam go brittle and eventually snap.

The part needed is in the link. While replacing check the teeth on the plastic timer cam which the inner bush locks onto are ok.

Tom

Thanks Tom, I'll pass that on and hopefully it should do the trick.
Ian.

That timer knob bush comes in 2 different lengths but don't panic if the new one is a different length to the old, it should still work OK. Sometimes the teeth break on the inner cam part as well so you may need both bits.
