Hi to all, if anyone knows where I can still aquire a bendix 7147b washer from, can you please let me know, ive been looking for one for years to add to my collection. I remember the neighbours where we lived having the bendix washers with the square door on, and as a child always wanted one. I used to love watching them on if we were in their houses and they were operating. I used to wash the car on a Sunday for one of the neighbours who had one, and it was always on doing a wash on a Sunday, I used to take ages filling the bucket at the sink so I could watch it. So quiet and so stable on the spin cycle. The drum and rubber would move quite a lot when it clicked onto the spin but the cabinet never moved at all. I would love one of these machines to use now. Ian from blackpool.

Ian

Welcome to AW - with a user name like that you should be looking for Philips machines LOLOL

Inevitably the best places to look for these machines is ebay, Gumtree and perhaps Freecycle. It has to be a matter of patience I am afraid, I am sure there are still some out there, its just a matter of them coming out of the woodwork.

I am pleased to say we have one of these with matching dryer in our washer "emporium" (pictured below, getting a new door seal) actually situated beside not one but two Philips variotronic washers, maybe some weekend you would be able to take a trip over and see it in action.

Do please tell us more about your collection, we are always interested to see what other members have

Al

Welcome to the club Ian, the Bendix is a great washing machine very quiet in operation as the adds used to say, have a stacked set as Al said earlier and not far away to have a visit some time....dont have a Pye twintub but there is a Rolls equivalent.

Keep looking out on ebay and local list and papers, also contact any local appliance fixers, never know what is still out there...
