Been out of town for the past month staying/working at a relatives. They have a Sears Elite TOL TL machine, a year or two old.  Has every option including Steam.  Got to say it was the biggest POS I've ever used.  I was washing small loads, and what it did most of the time was slowly spin.  Occasionally the wash plate would go into action, but just mostly spin.  I can't say anything came out really clean.  I will say the time I tossed in a comforter that got covered in dust on the bedding cycle it did fill almost to the top with water, but the wash action was poor at best.  Is this a Samsung build?

I'm a total convert to FL at this point.  My FL turn out nice clean loads time after time, and the steam cycle will get things really clean.  I see no advantage to the wash plate system, I think it exists solely to placate those who have to have a TL machine or were scared off year ago by "smelly" FL units - a non issue anymore.

Ok, LG.  It looked more like Samsung to me.  It did have a stainless tub, did not examine the wash plate though.

AS I said it did fill to the top when doing the comforter.  It was patterned so I was able to see just how well the wash action was.  The center section rarely went under the water and moved, the outer edges did have a moderate amount of movement.  I found it interesting there was no roll over , I kept waiting to see the center portion pulled under and re positioned but it only happened once or twice during the whole wash cycle.  My relative commented that they were not happy with the machines.

Funny thing.  We were doing some work and had turned off the cold water, the machine kept throwing an E1 error code.  I kept resetting the machine, even unplugged it for a while and it still did it.  Finally we dug out the plastic coated card that came with the machine and it noted that code was if one of the water valves failed or was shut off.
