I've never seen a washer quite like that. |

Yes, here is another picture of a similar machine, this one is an Otsein.
Are you sure about Constructa? That would make it a BSH (Bosch und Siemens Haushaltsgeräte) product, but it doesn't look like that at all. |

On lower end B/S/H products from the late '80s, early '90s. Constructa, Siemens, Bosch, Neff, Gorenje, even their top of the line 'custom' stuff shares major parts, just as a Roper washer is basically the same as the far more expensive Maytag. I'm not saying this IS a B/S/H product, just that the controls are quite similar to some models of the past.
Electronics were already worked out and lasting for decades by the end of the 1970's on major European brands. Philips had some bullet-proof systems in the mid-70's - with heat sinks and highest quality components to match. It was no problem to copy them, I rebuilt a fried board on a friend's washer in 1983 with stock parts straight from Conrad in Munich. Be no problem for a 'C' class manufacturer to copy and market, especially in Greece, Spain, Portugal and the other not-so-strict parts of the EC. |

Nigel,
I had a close look at both controls. They look similar, but if you have a good look they are certainly not identical twins. Further Philips toploaders from that era were 40 cm wide, my guess is that the Pitsos is 45cm wide. I wish we could identify the Pitsos, but so far I don't recognize any brand in it that I am familiar with. But there is a lot I don't know ofcourse. |

do sound very different to the B/S/H 'whine' of the '80s and '90s. And they sound yet again different to the massive double-motor Miele washers which were perfect in every way. B/S/H makes a lot of special order goods under unusual brand names for various outlets. I helped translate a small order (100,000) units they did under a store brand name for the Czech Republic a few years back. Inside, purely Siemens everything. Outside, nothing absolutely nothing which looked like B/S/H. So - this could well be one of those washers they made in limited runs for somebody else. One thing I learned through my translation and seminar work with them through many decades: They don't mind recycling 'old' technologies. |

Hello Neo, another great top loader find, I wonder if it was produced under license from / by Philips / Pitsos because that control panel is more Philips Series 90 than BSH as Nigel mentioned, even the indentations on the push buttons, again perhaps Philips / Pitsos could have sourced the controls from a 3rd party manufacture !!
